A desktop companion for technical interviews. Capture questions by screenshot, voice, or
search — and get drafted answers for DSA, system design, and behavioral rounds in the moment you need them.
Because Interview Genie is not yet notarized by Apple, macOS Gatekeeper will block the app the first
time you open it.
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Scroll to the Security section — you'll see "Interview Genie was blocked…".
Click Open Anyway (you may need your admin password).
You only need to do this once.
🖥 Screen Recording permission
The first time you use the Screenshot feature (Ctrl+Shift+S),
macOS will prompt for Screen Recording permission.
Click Open System Settings in the dialog.
Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording.
Toggle Interview Genie on. The app may need to restart.
🔕 Notification Privacy
To ensure Interview Genie remains undetectable during screen shares, you must configure notification
settings:
Go to System Settings → Notifications.
Under Notification Centre settings, ensure Show previews is set to
Never.
Find Electron (or Interview Genie) in the application list and turn off
Allow notifications.
Launch Interview Genie from your Applications folder.

Interview Genie offers a free tier with 3 API requests per day, standard AI models, and
basic features. For more access, we offer a Weekly plan at $30/week and a Premium monthly plan at $60/month
— both include 200 API requests per day, advanced LLM models, priority customer support, and access to all
features.
Interview Genie is designed to be undetectable through internal engineering built with the
user's perspective in mind. The invisible mode hides the window from screen share APIs, recording software,
and alt-tab thumbnails across all major platforms.
The AI can understand and provide assistance for a wide range of programming languages
commonly used in software development interviews, including Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Go, Ruby,
Swift, Kotlin, and more.
Currently, Interview Genie primarily supports English for both the interface and question
detection. Support for other languages may be considered in future updates based on user demand.

steps to reproduce, and any error messages. You can also try resetting the app with Ctrl+Shift+R.
Voice Mode uses a native audio module that works independently across all platforms.
Screenshot and Multi-Capture modes are platform-independent — they work with Zoom, Teams, Meet, and any
